So welcome! This is the newly named Monday playlist, because let's face it, Monday's are mad, not mellow...
Panic at the Disco- Mad as Rabbits
Guitarist Ryan Ross admits to writing this song in just one day. Kind of like how we all feel on a Monday though; just get everything done so you can go home and have the day out of the way. The song was written in just a day, a kind of filler song for their album. However, when they increased tempo and added bass, it became one of their most 'group sounding' tracks.
Little Mix - Madhouse
Back from their first album; this upbeat tune reflects just how mad a Monday can be. The foursome, now widely known as Little Mix, wrote the song in line with how they feel when a music beat take over you, meaning you can't help but move. This song will get you up out of your seat and keep you going through the dreaded Monday blues.
Elton John- Mona Lisa and Mad Hatters
Lyricist Bernie Taupin's first visit to New York is what inspired him to write this song for Elton. The song is known to be one of Elton's favourites because the alternation it has from optimism to despair. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this mirrors exactly how most of us are going to feel when Monday comes around again at the same time next week.
Gary Jules- Mad World
Gary covered this song, originally by Tears for Fears, for the film soundtrack Donnie Darko back in 2001. It made it to Christmas number one and even won Orzabal (Tears for Fears) his second Ivor Novello Award in 2003. It's also a firm favourite for tv series and has featured on shows such as: CSI, The O.C and House.
Ne-Yo- Mad
We see Ne-Yo fans sing their hearts out to his songs, because they seem to find a piece of themselves in everything he writes. This slow tempo track shows Ne-Yo being in an insecure relationship; something that everyone can relate to. Do Monday's make you feel insecure?Because it's okay, they make us all feel slightly uneasy too.
