It’s getting warmer, we’re in the Spring month so let’s just escape together and have a more chilled Monday Madness this week, excite ourselves for the summer months ahead.
Fleur East – Day in LA
Let’s start by escaping to America, and where better to go than Los Angeles? All that sun and sand to bronze up and pretend we’re part of the Victoria’s Secret clang. The new synth and guitar overdubs are something completely different to what we’ve heard Fleur perform before, but her personality still shines through and makes the song something spectacular.
The 1975 – The Sound
The young, alternative rock band, The 1975, are distinguished by their wonderfully quirky good looks and even quirkier voices and they pulled it off again with this absolute wonder that is The Sound. The song features in the 2016 film Me Before You, featuring Amelia Clarke and Sam Claflin, based on the best-selling novel by Jojo Moyes. This song is so poppy in its sensibilities, that it’s sure to put you in nothing but a bopping mood.
Keywest- Carousel
This song is a little less known, but still one that will help you relax and soak into the warmer weather while you’re sat in a beer garden. Their debut album, Joyland, has gone platinum in Ireland, where the three of the five members were born and are all now based. It reached an impressive number two in the iTunes indie and alternative charts. Their aim is to be ‘Raw and Rhythmical’ and as well have ‘floor-filling festival sing alongs’.
Jess Glynne – Gave Me Something
After rising to unimaginable fame with Clean Bandit, Jess is now a celebrity in her own right, with countless other A-list stars celebrating her talents. Tinie Tempah, Emeli Sande and Samuel. L. Jackson. Gave Me Something is an upbeat tune to help you really get over the Monday blues and look forward to the rest of the week.
Walking on Cars – Two Stones
‘Can we sing Hallelujah’ when Monday finally draws to a close. The song is a great way to start the rest of the week. The five piece formed back in 2010, and have since become one the biggest the Irish alternative rock bands in Ireland. Their debut album, Everything Will Fly, was released only last January, with the band rumoured to be working on their second studio album at the moment.
