Is it Friday already? Time to feel good!
Danger Mouse – The Only One
This feel-good hip hop hit comes from the legend Danger Mouse. The musician has worked with everyone from the band Gorillaz to Jay-Z. However, he’s not to be confused with his namesake the British crime fighting rodent!
Miike Snow – Paddling Out
Coming all the way from Scandinavia, this Swedish pop track will have you smiling in no time. This band describes their sound as ‘indietronica’; a mix of indie and electro. Whatever genre it is, one things for certain, it definitely makes you feel great!
Toots & The Maytals -Funky Kingston
This song found itself in the 21st century when its was sampled by Pitbull on
his smash hit Don’t Stop The Party. You still can't beat the original though! Coming from the ground breaking group Toots & The Maytals, this track takes classic reggae instruments and melodies giving them a funky edge. An instant classic, this track still sounds as fresh today as it did when it was released over 40 years ago.
Janet Jacskson – All For You
If Wacko Jacko is the king of pop, then that makes Janet pretty close to the throne. Coming from her 2001 of the same name, this track is a disco-inspired, feel good-classic. Sampling the 80s track Glow Of Love by Change, this Janet Jackson tune takes an already happy song making it that much more feel-good!
Pete “El Conde” Rodriguez – I Like It Like That
This song is of the oddly named genre boogaloo. The genre comes from a mix of soul music, R&B and Cuban mambo. How from those three genres the name boogaloo emerged is beyond me, but whatever the reason, it sure makes for a feel-good tune.
The O’Jays – Love Train
This 1972 feel-good classic comes from the soul and disco legends The O’Jays. This track was a huge hit for the group and has gone on to become a soul classic. The came at a happy time in history too, as the day single enter the top 40 the Paris Peace Accords we signed. Interestingly, the songs lyrics mention many of the countries that signed that very deal.
