Tuesday is here once again, which can only mean one thing, it's playlist time!
Lana Del Rey - Love
The singer-songwriter debuted sci-fi-inspired visuals in her new video. In the video Love, which was released Monday morning, she is channeling her signature throwback aesthetic in both the ballad’s smoldering sound and the video’s retro Americana look.
The Foo Fighters - Learn to Fly
And the rumour mills keeps on turning. For last few months everyone has assumed the rock group will be taking to the Pyramid stage for what is possibly the last ever Glastonbury Festival. At 6pm tonight, the band will be making a public announcement, could they be announcing the headline slot? Twitter seems to think so.
David Bowie - Aladdin Sane
David Bowie fans are raising money for a memorial statue marking the late music icon’s London birthplace. The statue in question would be shaped liked the iconic lightning bolt from his Aladdin Sane album cover and would be situated in Brixton, south London, just streets away from Bowie’s Stansfield Road birthplace.
Skepta - Man
For the last section of this week's playlist, we're having a look at the Brits.
There were calls for a Brits boycott last year, after black artists were omitted from every category (except the international ones). In response, organisers overhauled the voting system, improving the representation of both women and people from ethnic minority backgrounds amongst the judges. Perhaps as a consequence, all but one of the best British male nominees this year are from a BAME background: with Kano, Skepta, Michael Kiwanuka and Craig David pitted against David Bowie.
Radiohead - Creep
Can they finally take home the gong? With 17 nominations and zero wins, Radiohead are the unluckiest band ever at the Brits. They were first nominated in 1994, when Creep was up for best single, losing out to Take That’s Pray.
