Time to get a bit loved up for the Valentine's edition of Topical Tuesday...

If you think this playlist is going to be filled with soppy love songs, you can guess again. We, like most of you, are bored to death with I Got You Babe and Puppy Love, so we're bringing you an all new Valentine's experience.

The Black Keys - Howlin' For You

To kick off, here's a track with a somewhat tedious link to the lovey-dovey day, but a link all the same. The track takes a slot on the soundtrack for 2016's Deadpool. It was released and marketed as a romantic film, which many argue is the case. While the movie is packed with violence and traditional Marvel-esk action, one of the main plot lines is the love interest. Not only that, it was released on Valentine's day, and makes reference to the fact it's a not so typical rom-com.

It's the love song song for the indie rockers. Singer, Alex Turner, said that the band drew inspiration from recent relationships, saying: "There's a few references for people to pick up on in there – 'Some Velvet Morning'.

Lady Gaga - Love Game

Okay, this one is a little self explanatory, but at least it's not soppy. This track by Lady Gaga was inspired by her sexual attraction to a stranger at a night club. Based on the amount of clubs doing Valentine's nights, we felt a club inspired hit should have a place on our playlist.

Little Mix - Shout Out To My Ex

Not everyone is celebrating 'Cupid's day' with that special someone today. For some people, that recent breakup might still sting. Little Mix perfectly capture the mood: 'forget about him, have a good time, you're better than him' attitude that you should don tonight.

Calum Scott - Dancing On My Own

Yet again, not a typically romantic song, but that is the point of this playlist. Calum Scott's track is a beautiful way of expressing his feelings for someone he feels doesn't even notice he's there, a feeling we can all relate to.
