I'm transporting you back to the 90's with this week's playlist. The 90s was full of great fashion, songs and dance moves, so why not get down and boogie to the tunes...
Whigfield - Saturday Night
Its a 90s themed playlist, so it would be a crime to not have this song featuring on it. Saturday Night is Whigfield's most well known song and definitely the catchiest. This track will definitely have you up and dancing like a fool with your friends all night long.
SNAP! - Rhythm Is A Dancer
This tune was a smash hit across many countries when it was released in 1992. SNAP! spent six weeks at the top of the charts in the UK with Rhythm Is A Dancer and we can totally see why. We love all of SNAP!'s songs here at Chooniverse, but none of them have our staff dancing quite in the same way.
Spice Girls - Wannabe
The queens of pop and best selling female group of all time, yes you got it, the Spice Girls. Wannabe was their debut single in 1996 and quickly shot to the top spot in 37 countries. Sadly the group are no longer together, but they did reunite for the London 2012 Olympics so maybe we'll be lucky enough to see them perform once more in our lifetime.
TLC - No Scrubs
TLC is an American girl band formed in 1991. The girls had several hits and became the best selling American girl band. Sadly, Lisa Lopes past away in 2002, but seeing as the group views each member as irreplaceable Rozonda Thomas and Tionne Watkins decided to continue as a duo. The pair are set to release their final album as TLC later this year.
Shania Twain - Man! I Feel Like A Woman
Eilleen Regina Edwards, or Shania Twain to me and you, is a country pop singer from Canada. Twain has released four albums since 1993 with her third album, Come On Over, becoming the most successful selling over 40 million copies worldwide. The Queen of Country Pop is just one of the great titles she received during her career along with winning many awards including four Grammy Awards and 27 BMI Songwriter awards.
Corona - Rhythm Of The Night
Italian eurodance act Corona found fame and success with their hit Rhythm of the Night. They released this tune in Italy in 1993 where is stayed at the top of the charts for eight consecutive weeks. The track was dropped elsewhere a year later and was very popular, especially in America where is was played on most radio stations and in clubs.
Ricky Martin - Livin' La Vida Loca
Ricky Martin began his music career at age 12 with the boy-band Menudo. Several years after forming the band, Martin began to released several Spanish solo albums. The singer had his break through with The Cup of Life when performing the song on the 41st Grammy Awards.
