Isle of Wight, that little island off the edge of the UK, is home to one of the longest running festivals that England has to offer...

The Isle of Wight Festival is bringing together more than 115,000 revellers for a weekend of live acts in a tradition going back more than 40 years.

Isle of Wight festival came back into our lives in the summer of 2002 after a ban made by parliament in 1971 ceased it to showcase.

It is by far, one of the most popular 'early' festivals, originally running as a counterculture event in the summer month, running three phenomenal between the years of 1968-1970, Tickets were a bargain of £1.25, prices we could only imagine to see nowadays.

Today, it is still one of the most reasonable festivals, with tickets starting at just £145 for the weekend, and just £60 for a day pass.

The event runs every year in June, so when the sun should be shining and no umbrella's should be in sight. Unfortunately that has not been the case in past years.

That said, it hasn't stopped the turn out increasing each year, bringing more than 80,000 people a year, together for one big festival party.

If you're feeling adventurous for the ferry boat ride across, then start looking now, as tickets are sure to sell out.

With headliners such as: David Guetta, Rod Stewart and George Ezra, you'd be crazy not to go!
