Welcome to this weeks feel-good Friday playlist! This week we’ve got some
House bangers as well as some Hip Hop classics. Enjoy!
Kicking things off, this Dance gem will certainly get you smiling this Friday. You
wouldn’t think somebody with the name Russ would necessarily know how to
get a party started, but the DJ has proved us wrong with this feel good banger!
Tupac feat. Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman – California Love
This 90s classic is a feel-good classic, with it’s mix of horns, vocoders and Pac’s
infectious flow. Employing the masterful vocoder skills of the legend Roger
Troutman, this track ascends the genre of hip hop and slides right into the genre of feeling
good!
Kris Kross – Jump
Popularising the rap lyrics ‘wickedywickedywickedywack’ (whatever that
means) among other classic lyrics, this 90s anthem will certainly make you want
to jump as well as smile. With the two rappers all grown up now, it looks like
their careers didn’t stand the test of time, but this track still sounds fresh as ever!
P.Diddy, Notorious B.I.G and Mase – Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems.
Released posthumously, this Biggie classic is definitely a feel-good staple. With a
hilarious and iconic video to boot, this track will definitely put you in a good
mood! The song may well have put featured rapper Mase in a spiritual mood, as
he later went on to become a pastor, whilst still maintaining his rap career.
Patrice Rushden – Forget Me Nots
This 70s feel good track had a 90s revamp when Will Smith sampled it for the
song Men In Black, so you might recognise the chorus form that track. However,
the song sounds best in its original form, being calm and relaxing, but also feel-
good and fun.
