This week's playlist is a pretty recent throwback to 2013, so these beats should still be fresh in your mind....

It comes as absolutely no surprise that some artists are planning a return to the spotlight in 2017, James Blunt being one of them (which we learnt from THAT Tweet) but joining the soulful singer is rumoured to be New Zealand's golden girl, Lorde.

Lorde- Royal

Back in 2013, kiwi Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, better known by her stage name, Lorde, took the UK and US by storm with her break out single, Royal off her album Pure Heroine. Both of which saw her take home the gold at the Grammys and MTV awards, not bad for a 17-year-old. Since then she's laid low, waiting for the perfect moment for a comeback. That comeback could be on the doorstep.

Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball

Also making waves in 2013 was the former Disney star. The singer ditched the girl next-door look and sound, opting for a more edgy look following her split from fiancé, Liam Hemsworth (the pair got back together earlier this year). This hit took parent album Bangerz to the top of the charts around the world and opened a new, and memorable, chapter of Cyrus' career.

One Direction - Best Song Ever

Now this is a strange sight. A lot has happened over the last three year, including the departure of Zayn Malik from the group leading to the remaining four exploring solo-careers. Since 2013, both Louis Tomlinson and Zayn have secured chart top spots in the UK with their own singles, Harry Styles took on his first film role and Louis became a dad. Oh how times have changed.

Justin Timberlake - Suit & Tie

Straight off the 20/20 Experience, possibly one of Timberlake's signature songs. After such enormous naughties success, with Bringing Sexy Back and Cry Me a River, Timberlake proved he was so much more than a dance-track machine with a much more diverse album.

Paramore - Still Into You

In an interview with Spin, the group's singer, Hayley Williams stated "'Still Into You' is definitely a love song. It's definitely happy. But to me anyway — and obviously I wrote it so maybe I'm biased, but — it's not a sappy love song. ... We've never done that before, and honestly I don't have a whole lot of experience writing love songs, or anyways lyrics that are like this."

Lady Gaga - Applause

Applause was the first single off the singer's third studio album, Artpop. Artpop began development quickly after Born This Way (2011) and is rumoured to have had over 50 songs considered for inclusion. The lead track was released after a six-month hiatus when Gaga broke her hip in February 2013.
