What do you get if you mix Nicki Minaj and the German Baroque composer Johann Pachelbel? Find out in today's Wednesday playlist, that Will has dedicated to mashups.
Taylor Swift & Korn We Are Coming Undone
Who would have thought the music of Taylor Swift and the lyrics of Korn would sound so good together? After the initial shock of hearing Jonathan Davis singing alongside Taylor's guitar you can't help but find yourself singing along.
Owl city vs 50 Cent - Fireflies in the club
Another one you wouldn't think would work but does is a mix of Owl City and 50 Cent. Since they both share the same BPM of 90 it's a very catchy fit that seems like they were made for each other. I'll leave you to decide if it's an improvement or not.
DJ Earworm Mashup - United State of Pop 2014 (Do What You Wanna Do)
Born Jordan Roseman, DJ Earworm is a successful mashup artist based in San Francisco who created the yearly mix series United State of Pop". Using the top 25 songs from that year, DJ Earworm has managed to condense so much music into one amazing mix. Enjoy.
99 Luftballons, Jay Z Mashup
I'm sorry I couldn't find a YouTube video for this next entry but it was just too good to miss out, and could possibly be my favourite mashup on this list. I couldn't find much about who made this one, however that doesn't take away from how good it is. Keeping elements from both artists this mashup manages to almost create a new song.
Isosine - Nonstop Pop 2016 Mashup
Like DJ Earworm, Isosine is a mashup artist from Vancouver, British Columbia. I couldn't find a lot of information about Isosine, but he first uploaded to YouTube in March of 2011 with a mashup of Justin Bieber and Slipknot that has been viewed over 17 million times.
Welcome To The Christmas Parade - Mariah Carey vs. My Chemical Romance
As is it December, what playlist would be complete without a Christmas song? This mix of two great anthems doesn't make either song better or worse, but instead creates a whole new sound that really shouldn't go together. Am I the only one who wants to see a Mariah Carey, MCR super-band? Oh just me?
Through Dying Young - (Kesha v. Dragonforce)
Even Dragonforce isn't fast enough to keep up with Kesha, with their classic Through the Fire and the Flames having to be sped up to match Kesha's Gonna Die Young. Almost classed as being too catchy, this mix didn't go down too well with the Kesha Fans I know, however it could still stand on its own.
Nicki Minaj - Starships ("Pachelbel - Canon in D" Version)
Nothing about this mix should work, but oh does it work so well. This is what the internet was created for and I am so glad to have found it. Pairing the genius work of German composer Johann Pachelbel and Nicki Minaj, has created something that would definitely fit inside Frankenstein's lab.
