Welcome to this weeks Feel-Good Friday playlist.
These songs are the perfect way to round-off your week. Whether it’s the soundtrack to your drive to work, or the playlist for your evening, sit back, relax and mellow out.
Sister Nancy – Bam Bam
This reggae classic is the perfect way to kick off your week. Coming from the legendary Sister Nancy, this track was recently sampled on Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo. Although my inner hipster cried out when all my friends meant Famous and not Bam Bam when they sung the chorus, this track is still a must have on any chill playlist.
Archie Marshall – Swell
Archie Marshall (aka King Krule) brings another laid-back classic to the table with
this 2015 single. The light keys and spacey synths will turn your study session
into an out of this world experience, whilst also not distracting you too much.
Action Bronson – Baby Blue
Action Bronson’s scratchy vocals and funny lyrics perfectly blend with this laid-
back track. Featuring the talents of Chance the Rapper, this ode to the ups and
down of love is slow in all the right places, taking Hip Hop to a slightly more
melodic and fun place than usual. With a great video to boot, this rap track is a
great way to start your Friday.
Wildhart – Is It Possible
This pop gem from little-known Swedish duo Wildhart is both atmospheric and relaxing. A criminally underrated pair, Wildhart takes afro-beat style house with rising strings and airy vocals. Definitely one to watch.
Mura Masa – Love$ick feat. A$AP Rocky
This collab between Guernsey-born Mura Masa and A$AP Rocky gives the tiny
island a reputation beyond being simply a dull tax haven. Perfectly blending
Mura Masa’s chilled Trap styling’s with A$AP’s smooth delivery, this track is
definitely an underrated gem.
