The Zolas - You're Too Cool
Canadian indie rock group, The Zolas, are a duo band based in Vancouver, British Columbia. They are currently on tour with another Canadian band, folk-rock inspired, The Strumbellas. Zachary Gray and Tom Dobrzanski, the two members of The Zolas started off as part of the band Lotus Child but left in 2008, bringing out their debut album Tic Toc Tic in November 2009.
Liz Cooper and The Stampede - Mountain Man
Psychedelic folk/rock band Liz Cooper and The Stampede consists of Liz Cooper, Ky Baker and Grant Prettyman. Residing in Nashville, TN, the bands influences include great 60s and 70s sounds such as The Grateful Dead, The Band, and Crosby. They don’t have any plans to perform any time soon, however, they did recently play at Athens of the South Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee.
Jamie xx – Gosh
You might recognise the name Jamie Smith as part of London based band The xx, however, he also performs a solo act under the name Jamie xx. Jamie has been a record producer, remixer and DJ and his latest accomplishment was winning a 2016 Grammy Award nomination in the Best
Dance/Electronic Album category for his album In Colour. A little known fact would be that Jamie xx also composed the score for a ballet, Tree of Codes, that was performed at the Manchester
International Festival.
Have Mercy - Let's Talk About Your Hair
American rock band Have Mercy are from Baltimore, Maryland. Beginning in the 2011 they already
have released two albums, one EP, and two splits. They are playing today, Wednesday 16th November in Chicago, IL, United States at the Lincoln Hall.
Zion I - Coastin'
From Oakland, California, Zion I is an American hip hop duo consisting of Baba Zumbi and Amp Live. Their latest album was released on October 27th , The Labyrinth that was part of Mind Over Matter Records.
Snarky Puppy - Lingus (We Like It Here)
Snarky Puppy, an instrumental ensemble from Brooklyn, New York are all led by bassist, composer and producer Michael League. Comprised of nearly 40 changing musicians, they refer to themselves as “The Fam” and include instruments such as guitar, piano, keyboard, woodwinds, brass, percussion and strings.
Drunk Girl - Don't Stop the Party (feat. Deanna)
Not much is known about the artist Drunk Girl, after the domain for their website was taken offline
the only thing left was their bio on Soundcloud which reads, “Just a dude out here trying to raise
awareness for drunk girls across the globe”. From New Jersey, Drunk Girl’s music has been featured on the increasingly popular game Rocket League.
The Neighbourhood - Sweater Weather
Sometimes referred to as ‘THE NBHD’, The Neighbourhood are an American rock group from
Newbury Park, California. Formed in 2011, the band includes vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists
Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Mikey Margott, and drummer Brandon Alexander Fried. With no upcoming tour or gig dates, their new album Wiped Out! is available now.
JAWS – Swim
English indie pop band JAWS, formed in Birmingham in 2012. They have published two EPs, two
albums and four singles, and have been featured on the Ubisoft game Rocksmith in 2014. On the 4th November they released their new album Simplicity, and have three events coming up in Ashton-under-Lyne, Leeds and Hull.
White Lies - Bigger Than Us
From Ealing, London, White Lies play post-punk music. Their band consists of lead vocals and guitar played by Harry McVeigh, bass guitar and backing vocals played by Charles Cave, and drums played by Jack Lawrence-Brown. They are playing next at Rock City in Nottingham on Thursday 24th November.
