Mamma mia, here we go again...

Eurovision hotshots and musical legends, ABBA have announced they will be making a return to the stage. All four original members of Abba are to reunite for a new digital entertainment project.

To celebrate the Swedish group's return, this week's throwback will be 1974, the year ABBA took home the gold at Eurovision. So what else was happening in 1974? Find out right here.

ABBA - Waterloo

Just two years after the pop group formed they set off for Brighton where they were crowned Eurovision champions with their hit single Waterloo. Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad parted ways eight years later in 1982 but now they're gearing up for a 2018 come back.

David Bowie - Rebel Rebel

Rebel Rebel was originally written for Ziggy Stardust musical in 1973, but it didn't quite make it in time. The single was Completed in January of 1974 and released on Diamond Dogs as the singer's farewell to glam rock. The music chameleon went on to release his funk rock debut album, Young Americans in 1975.

Queen - Killer Queen

It's a strange thought to think back to when Queen wasn't a household name as an iconic rock band, but back in 1974 this was the case, until Killer Queen hit the airwaves. It was their first big international hit, reaching number two in the UK and becoming their first US hit.

Bob Marley and the Wailers - No Woman No Cry

The soulful and melancholic tune we have all come to love over the years was released in 1974 on the studio album Natty Dread. Any true Bob Marley fan would know that No Woman,No Cry is a reference to England's prior control of Jamaica. "Woman" is a reference to the Queen of England. They used to protest in Trench Town all night long against England. A purely political song.

The Rolling Stone - It's Only rock and Roll (But I Like it)

It's Only Rock ’n Roll (But I Like It), was released as the first single off its album, and despite the familiar sound, it surprised many by failing to reach the top 10 in the US (although it did reach the top 10 in the UK). With its sing-along chorus, it has become a staple at Rolling Stones concerts.

Bob Dylan - Going Going Gone

Literature Nobel Prize winner Bob Dylan's music has spanned five decades. Despite all the mythology surrounding Dylan's work with The Band, he only actually recorded a single album with them. The album Planet Waves was cut in Los Angeles over four days in 1973 and released in 1974. The album's high point, Going, Going, Gone, is a wearily elegant intimation of suicide that's musically full of life.
