Stormzy Vs NME

The grime artist has taken to Twitter to throw shade at NME's most recent cover.

Stormzy recently made headlines across the world after he spoke openly about mental health. Now he's back in the spotlight, this time championing a different cause.

NME tweeted a preview of the cover for their latest issue featuring Stormzy. It's not just the image that's cause the grime artist grief, the cover story: "Depression, it's time to talk" has riled Stormzy, to say the least.

Along with the image, Stormzy tweeted saying they had used his image without permission. The weekly music mag recently approached the artist asking to use him for their cover. Unable to take no for an answer, they found a way around the issue.

Stormzy continued to tweet directly to the mag saying: "I should at least have a say in whether my face is used for a campaign. I've no issue with sharing my story, but with my permission!"

While NME have replied (see below) to the tirade of comments from the artist, he has yet to respond as to whether their words of kindness have subsided the anger.

UPDATE:

Stormzy hit back at NME after their halfhearted apology. See the cold response below.

Another Twitter user said NME should donate their profits from this issue to a charity of Stormzy's choice. Needless to say the grime artist is in favour of this idea.
